[ And Hermione is at the door not even moments later, looking a mixture of determined and completely out of her mind with stress. She knocks, peeking her head around the door and trying not to burst into tears. She didn't cry with Harry but now, knowing how much danger everyone is in? It's hitting her hard. ]
[ She welcomes the touch even as she echoes his unspoken word and she glances up. ]
Harry got in contact with me. Reynard, the Fox person? He's trying to raise enough shards and sigils to make a third court. That's why he's gathering shards - that's why he's murdering people.
I didn't know. But he's - all of this, it's all a plan to make a third court for himself, because he thinks it'll balance out the war between the Seelie and the Unseelie.
[ She reaches out, gripping his hand. ]
He's gathering shards and I don't think he cares who he has to take them from. The things he needed, the Sigils? They were only able to be hidden somewhere ridiculosly safe because they were so magically powerful. Somewhere Alyosha knew about.
[ Redgate. ]
And now that Alyosha is gone everything she had can belong to Reynard if he raises an army and takes it.
[ Hermione winces a little at the language, mostly because there's nothing she can really do to help calm him down. There is something that might lift his spirits, though, and she stands, hesitating to reach out and touch him. She knows he's wary of his powers on a regular day; angry he might be worse. ]
Hope isn't lost, da-John. We have a plan.
[ She walks around so he can see her, lifting her head up. ]
I'm doing research, ways to hide the sigils without needing Redgate or the blood granite. If we can hide them, all across the Drabworld, then Reynard won't be able to get anything from Redgate. The power he needs will have been taken from him before he even reaches it. That's what I'm going to do - I'm going to find a means of hiding them from him, permanently.
I don't think that'll work, somehow. They're insanely powerful, from what I've heard, and they're everything he needs to make his base. We have to keep them from him.
[ She nods her head, breathing in and out slowly. All of this feels like a huge weight on her shoulders and just saying it aloud to someone that wasn't Harry was enough for her. Thranduil is next, she needs to speak with him to keep Legolas and the rest of their group protected, but at least she knows that she has lightened her load a little -
even if it has upset John some. ]
There's not much, yet. I have to do the reading, trying to find as much as I can about protecting the sigils. We can't mention any of this to the Queen - if she finds out and then, after, Morla does...
[ Hermione shakes her head, going pale. ]
This, what I'm doing? It's technically treason, I think.

John?

[ She doesn't look good and John immediately moves to gently steer her into the room, hand on her back and the other shutting the door. ]
What's wrong?
[ Everything, his mind whispers, but he forces it down. Hermione needs him. ]

[ John cuts himself off, but only barely. He does have to step away now, hands clenching tight. ]
He killed all the soldiers I was given to command except one. Did I tell you that? And now he's killed Alyosha on top of all of his other crimes.
A third court I can understand. Maybe even support. But I would not trust one ruled by the damn Fox.

[ He has to pull away again, long enough to pace the length of his room. He's like a caged bear, massive and angry and full of snarling teeth. ]
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
[ He really wants to hit something, but whatever he hits will break. ]
He's already got an army. The Unseelie won't be happy that their ally is opposing them, I don't think, but- fuck.
Redgate's weak, after everything we did. And with Alyosha gone...

Throw them in the goddamn ocean and let them crumble, [ he grumbles under his breath, but he has no idea if that's actually feasible. ]
I hope you hurry. It'll take a while to march an army to Redgate, but it won't take as long as we'd like.
[ And there will still be all the people there. ]
How can I help?

[ Not very Seelie of him, but. Well. Fuck it. ]
Believe me, if you keep Reynard from raising a third court, I think they'll thank you.

[ She reaches for his hand, then, squeezing. ]
I think I'll manage.
